Social Listening
The brand I will speaking about today is Arby's. Arby's has become a meme on social media as of the last few months, with people implying that they are "forced" to eat there. This interests me, honestly, because I find it hilarious and interesting. Arby's was my first job and the way people are making fun of the company on platforms like Tik Tok and Twitter is to funny.
Arby's Value proposition is "Inspiring Smiles Through Delicious Experiences". People are saying all kinds of wild things about Arby's. The biggest one that Arby's is "forcing" people to eat their foods, and they are "forcing people" to create advertisements, and that someone bought a TV for $25 and when he plugged it in it was only Arby's ADS. Then another classic one is, that Arby's roast beef is created of liquid beef. This has been proven to be false but people on twitter are still unsure of the matter. Below is a article about the rumors of Arby's: https://www.mashed.com/74545/secrets-arbys-doesnt-want-know/

I find these rumors to be hilarious for the most part. But also all of the publicity Arby's is getting from all of these videos and ADS seem to be beneficial for them. Arby's also likes to play along on social media, so with all of these articles Arby's has responded and almost gone viral from it.
Arby's is a fast food restaurant that sells high quality beef sandwiches. Relating Arby's and their social media strategy is to also participate in the memes created about them. They are very active on most forms of social media specifically Twitter. When people make videos pretending to be forced to do ADS Arby's will respond comedically. I feel like there PR team is really on brand about taking a joke and rolling with it.
I love that Arby's responds to most social media comments made with sass. I honestly feel like it plays in their hand and continues to make them popular and makes young people stay interested.

I learned in this assignment that sometimes bad rumors you can turn into a positive spin if handled correctly.
